All items sold by Muddy Marvels Pottery are food safe. Wares made of solely ceramic are microwave and dishwasher safe--no hand washing is necessary, although it is recommended. Items decorated in gold luster/accented with wood are not microwave friendly. (If your travel mug cork gets dirty, scrub with warm water and soap.) In order to re-hydrate your (cork travel mug stopper), use a food safe oil to rub on the surface allowing the oil to fully saturate the (cork). I recommend coconut oil or bees wax board butter, which can be found at your local hardware store/supermarket.
(I am new to selling on line and am working to find a good rhythm of creating in the studio, teaching elementary school, and nurturing my children and family. Please bare with me while I am working through this learning. Creating pottery is a very time consuming process and I promise I am working away at it in my studio to bring you quality products.
Ready to ship items:
Orders are shipped within 2-3 days of receipt, and you will be notified via email with your shipping confirmation.
Custom orders:
I take custom orders when I have the time in my making schedule to accommodate. Small orders please allow for 6-8 months and larger 8-12 months. As these orders are not created at the same time as the original collection and are handcrafted there will be variations between the products. Complete tableware collections are available and we welcome wedding registries.
Seconds are pieces that don’t meet aesthetic quality standards or are made as test products that didn’t make the cut for regular Muddy Marvels Pottery sale. The imperfections in the finish do not affect the integrity of the piece. Many makers throw these wares out, but in my practice of sustainability and reuse I prefer to offer them at reduced rates to reflect their visual impurities.
Giving room for imperfections allows for more accessibility for my customers and a less-wasteful practice.
Examples of seconds:
- A pour over cone with a hairline split in the surface of the glaze. These splits do not interfere with the integrity of the piece.
- A dish with a small “S” fracture in the base. This fracture does not go entirely through or interfere with the integrity of the plates’ function.
Lastly, please remember to be kind when purchasing handmade. These items are loved from the minute they are made to the second they’re sent out to you. You are bringing a piece of Muddy Marvels Pottery and myself into your home.
